President of the European Federation of Psychology Associations EFPA.
Dear friends and colleagues,
Welcome to the 15th European Congress of Psychology, the Congress of the European Federation of Psychologists Association (EFPA) organised by the Netherlands Institute of Psychologists (NIP) and the Belgian Federation of Psychologists (BFP).
From the 11th to the 14th of July 2017, in the beautiful city of Amsterdam, psychologists from all over the world (researchers, academics and practitioners) will get together to present, discuss and propose solutions for society’s problems.
The theme of the congress is very suggestive and up-to-date “Psychology addressing society’s greatest challenges”. We want to show to our fellow citizens how psychology has contributed and can contribute for a better world, with more mental health and well-being.
The world is undergoing great challenges at a very fast pace, creating adaptation problems with consequences at the physical, mental, social, economic, community and political levels. Phenomena like massive migration, integration, globalisation, the new technologies and the news ways to learn and work pose important challenges and call for resilient people and societies.
Psychology as a science has managed to accumulate important scientific evidence concerning the use of successful approaches. Psychology as a practice has the experience and the feedback from the people about their needs and desires.
Psychological should occupy a more prominent role in the solution of the problems facing humankind. Let’s show how we can help by meeting in Amsterdam for the 15th European Congress of Psychology.
I look forward to welcoming you and wish you Happy Holidays!
