Practical information

We are excited that you and almost 2000 colleagues from across the world will gather in Amsterdam, The Netherlands to participate in the 15th European Congress of Psychology (ECP 2017), to be held from July 11-14, 2017. This email provides you with helpful information in planning your time at this congress.

Congress venue
The congress will be held at RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre (map).

Getting to Amsterdam
RAI Amsterdam is uniquely situated, it has its own train and metro stations as well as a tram stop right outside. For more information click here.

From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport
From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport you can take the train to the RAI Amsterdam train station. This will take you about 15 minutes and the train will run every 15 minutes. Please follow the signs for RAI Amsterdam to reach the RAI from the station.

From Amsterdam Central Station
From Amsterdam Central Station you can take Tram 4, 51 or 54 to Amsterdam RAI train station. This will take you about 20 minutes and the trams will run every 5 minutes. Please follow the signs for RAI Amsterdam to reach the RAI from the station. Find more information here.

By car and parking
The RAI is immediately signposted on roads signs on the ring road, drivers end up on after approaching Amsterdam from the A1 motorway (Amersfoort/Amsterdam), the A2 (Utrecht/Amsterdam) or the A4 (Den Haag [The Hague]/Amsterdam). RAI Amsterdam is situated right next to the ring road (Exit 9). The RAI’s car parks are signposted immediately after leaving the ring road.
The RAI has plenty of parking space, parking assistants will direct you to the reserved parking space for ECP 2017. The RAI has a fixed parking rate of € 18 per 24 hours. (the same rate for 1 hour or 24 hours). Find more information here.

All attendees must pick up their badge and congress materials at the registration desk which is located at the Onyx Lounge, enter via Entrance G and follow the signs at the RAI Amsterdam. Registration will be open during the following hours:

Tuesday, July 11 16:00 – 19:30 hrs.
Wednesday, July 12 08:00 – 18:00 hrs.
Thursday, July 13 08:00 – 18:00 hrs.
Friday, July 14 08:00 – 16:00 hrs.

Please note that if your last name contains a prefix you need to collect your badge at the first letter of this prefix. For example de Vries, you should collect your badge at the D.

Badge & vouchers
With your registration materials, you will receive a personalized name badge. During the congress, this badge must be worn visibly at all times. It grants access to the sessions, welcome reception and poster viewing. You will receive a voucher together with your badge for the social events for which you have signed up during online registration.

Please visit the website, for more information on how to download the app. You can log in with your email address used for your congress registration and the password ECP2017.

We strongly advise you to download the app upfront and check the general information sections for useful practical information.

Guidelines – revised version

Speaker Service Centre (Artist foyer):
All speakers are kindly requested to report to the Speaker Service Centre (Artist Foyer) to upload their final presentation. All presentation files must be handed over to our staff (on USB stick) where these will be uploaded at least 1 hour before the start of your presentation. Please review our speakers guidelines and presentation format carefully before preparing your presentation.

Please note that there are 2 slide formats for presentations. The format you need to use to prepare your slide depends on which room you are scheduled to speak.

Opening hours Speaker Service Centre:

Tuesday July 11 15.30 – 19.30 hrs.
Wednesday July 12 07.30 – 18.00 hrs.
Thursday July 13 07.45 – 18.00 hrs.
Friday July 14 07.45 – 16.00 hrs.

If your presentation is scheduled in the first session of the day, please upload your slides in the Speaker Service Centre the day before if possible.

Poster sessions
Posters should be mounted on the day your poster is scheduled 20 minutes before the session starts. Mounting materials will be available in the poster area. Your poster should be removed from the poster board 10 minutes after your poster session. Posters not removed by the presenters will be removed by the organizers and will be destroyed.
The presenting author should be in the vicinity of his/her poster during the poster viewing sessions on the assigned day. Please, check the final program for the poster viewing schedule.

All accepted and presented abstracts are published on the ECP 2017 website and in the Congress app.

Certificate of Attendance
After the last day of the congress, you will receive an email notification with the link inviting you to participate to the online evaluation and the possibility to print your certificate of attendance.

Receiving your accreditation points (only for Dutch participants)
Documentation of awarded credit is provided for registered attendees in exchange for completing online evaluations. Upon completion of online activity evaluation you will be able to print your certificate of awarded credit for your records. The accreditation points will be automatically added to your account after the online evaluation is closed. Visit the website for accreditation updates.

Social events
Below please find an overview of the social events. Your registration record will show if you have indicated to attend the social events. Please inform us if you have changed plans.

Amsterdam Experience (Dinner & Party)
Place: Ocean Diva (Passengers Terminal Amsterdam)
Address: Vriesseveem 1, 1019 GM Amsterdam
Date: Thursday July 13, 19:00 – 22.30 hrs.
The boat will leave the harbor at 20:00 and will return at 22:00.
Price: € 80 person
Dress code: Casual

The Ocean Diva is located in the Passengers Terminal Amsterdam (Vriesseveem 1, 1019 GM Amsterdam). Take the train or metro from the RAI station to Amsterdam Central Station. You can walk from there, it is a 15 minute walk. You can also take tram 26 from Amsterdam Central Station and get out at stop Amsterdam, Muziekgebouw Bimhuis. A map with walking instructions is on reverse of the Amsterdam Experience voucher.
